Show Notes

When Karen began in the mortgage business, she never imagined she would become a pioneer and an advocate for women in the mortgage business. In Karen's small town, she was the first woman closing agent, the first woman loan officer, the first woman branch manager, and ultimately the first women-owned mortgage company with an all-female staff.

After a tragedy in the family Karen could’ve gone back to working as a loan originator, but she knew her desire was to share and mentor other women on how to increase THEIR mortgage business.

Here’s a fact: Women conduct business differently than men — not good or bad — just different.

After attending a few mortgage sales rallies or association meetings, Karen noticed the speakers were mostly men in the industry; so, she asked why more women speakers weren’t hired and she was told “because we don’t know where to find them.”

Karen saw the opportunity and created the Mortgage Women Speakers Bureau as a one-stop website where top women experts in the mortgage industry can easily be discovered and hired to speak.

Karen's goal is to make sure that more women speakers who are in the mortgage business be asked to speak at mortgage company sales rallies, events, and mortgage association meetings.

In this episode, Karen and Jay discuss amazing things about being business and how to delegate as a true entrepreneur.
