Season 76, Episode 908: The Beyond Order Series: Rule 3
"Something we cannot see protects us from something we do not understand. The thing we cannot see is culture, in its intrapsychic or internal manifestation. The thing we do not understand is the chaos that gave rise to culture. If the structure of culture is disrupted, unwittingly, chaos returns. We will do anything - anything - to defend ourselves against that return." - Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief
We are continuing our series today with our very own Jay Doran going through Dr. Jordan B. Peterson's book, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and giving his own interpretation of the text. Our focus for this episode is on rule 3 which states: "Do not hide unwanted things in the fog." At a base level, this could be interpreted as facing your fears or your demons or something as simple as conflict with a co-worker. However, at a deeper level, perhaps this rule could be based around something even deeper within yourself. Jay is going to get to the heart of it on this episode of The Culture Matters Podcast.
