The Culture Matters Podcast
Season 77, Episode 912: The Beyond Order Series: Rule 7
"Something we cannot see protects us from something we do not understand. The thing we cannot see is culture, in its intrapsychic or internal manifestation. The thing we do not understand is the chaos that gave rise to culture. If the structure of culture is disrupted, unwittingly, chaos returns. We will do anything - anything - to defend ourselves against that return." - Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief
We are continuing our series today with our very own Jay Doran going through Dr. Jordan B. Peterson's book, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and giving his own interpretation of the text. Today, Jay is taking a look at rule number seven which states: "Work as hard as you possibly can on at least one thing and see what happens." We are all pulled in so many different directions at all times that it can seem increasingly difficult to focus in on just a couple, let alone one. However, this episode is all about encouraging you to do just that; focus in on one thing and be the best you possibly can be in the attempt. We hope you enjoy this episode of The Culture Matters Podcast.
